| Description: | Abstract: In this lecture I will briefly give the concept of inverse modelling, the definition of an objective function, multi-objective versus single objective optimisation, and local versus global optimisation. After introducing the concepts and definitions, an often used local optimisation procedure and its similarities with linear regression will be presented. Finally, the uncertainty of the inversely estimated parameters will be discussed. |
