Description(s):Abstract: The COSMO-DE reanalysis created within the Hans Ertel Centre for Weather Research is to be evaluated to check its quality and consistency. For this purpose, a forward operator is applied to the reanalysis fields to calculate corresponding brightness temperatures, which can then be compared to the brightness temperatures measured by satellite instruments.
