| Description: | Abstract: The map shows the geographical position and dimension of forest biotopes in NRW. In 1994 a first program was established to give private and communal owners a financial incentive to protect and develop deciduous forests close to nature. Most of these areas were incorporated in the ecological network Natura 2000 of the European Union. These and other habitats and birds reserves are included in the enhanced programm to protect forest biotopes. |
