Description(s):Abstract: Our final goal is to develop a consistent space-time, multilevel statistical model for precipitation estimates which merges rain radar measurements and gauge observations and at the same time accounting for the uncertainty which is present at several stages. In this report we summarize the work done in the second semester of this thesis. We build a Bayesian model for the estimation of DSD parameters in the stationary case with both additive and multiplicative error terms. We evaluate our algorithm in idealized test cases. Starting from this foundation, we detail the necessary steps to develop our model to the next stage.
