Description(s):Abstract: Root distribution and its change over time play a key role but are often simplified in root water uptake (RWU) models. Parameterization and evaluation of the compensation are important for RWU estimations. The aim of this work is to parameterize the two macroscopic RWU models and compare the performance of RWU which was simulated sequentially with measured soil moisture and dynamic root distributions from the rhizotubes and with different compensation principle.
