Description(s):Abstract: The plant-soil continuum plays a main role for the reallocation of precipitation and water delivery from the ground to atmosphere through evapotranspiration. A range of techniques have been used to investigate ET in different plants ranging from individual crops to a catchment scale. One of the methods to assess water flux via transpiration at the scale of a single plant is sap flow measurement. Considering the importance of water use efficiency in agroecosystems, it is crucial to clearly figure out the variations of sap flow under different soil water conditions, especially under water stressed condition in root zone during the growing season.
