Description(s):Abstract: As a contribution to the WRCP EURO-CORDEX project, multi-scale regional climate control- and projection runs with the WRF atmospheric model driven by two different GCMs are produced for Europe. Based on the RCM simulations this study investigates the land-atmosphere coupling strength in the context of regional climate change and analyzes the added value of a higher spatial model resolution. An assessment of the coupling strength uncertainties is done by using a broad range of the multi-model EURO-CORDEX ensemble. Different methodologies are investigated and adapted for the RCM ensemble standard outputs, as a first step for ERA-Intirim reanalysis driven validation runs, as a second step for future climate change projections.
