Title(s):Main Title: Aggregation and Disaggregation of radar rainfall data
Description(s):Abstract: Our fi nal goal is to develop a consistent space-time, multilevel statistical model that merges rain radar measurements and other observations of precipitation. The model shall represent spatial dependences, take account of systematic and random errors of radar data and combine di erent types of measurements for rain. In order to do this we face measurements on diff erent scales. The merging will be done on large scales followed by disaggregation to smaller scales for hydrological modelling. At the beginning we transform rainfall intensity to a suitable and useful distribution. Then correlations are derived and a Gaussian Markov random fi eld is fitted. The methods to be used are Geostatistics, Bayesian hierarchical modelling and the theory of Gaussian Markov Random Fields.
